Stellar faux fur fit and flare coat with zig-zag patterning, circa late 1960s / early 1970s vintage.
Sleek, soft and shiny ""animal"" striped pattering in espresso, taupe, and off white.
Longer, rougher texture (faux beaver or faux bear) oversized lapels with notched detail, matched cuffs.
Optional interior ties, hidden hook and eye closure at the nipped waist. Optional self belt is wide brown vinyl with rectangular etched floral metal antique- look buckle. There is a snap at the corner of the lapel to close the collar if desired- this appears to be after market and easily removable if desired.
Panels are really well matched. On seam slash pockets at upper hips. Fully lined in plummy rayon/ acetate blend satin, with ""R.L. Birnbaum & Sons, Ladies Shop, 46 Broad St, New Britain, Conn."" label, as shown.
Incredibly warm thanks to the synthetic outer, and not nearly as heavy as a fur from the same era. Condition is very good to excellent- there is very slight nap wear to the outer edge of the placket from the waist to the hem- see photos. Incredibly clean and ready to debut- talk about a statement coat!
